Manufacturing Processes
- Eastern / Northern Cedar is purchased from local sources.
- Cedar is sorted by length, diameter, and quality to best suit products.
- Sizes that are suitable for our process are sorted by length.
- Cedar is peeled and shaped as cylindrical as possible.
- Pieces are trimmed to proper length.
- Pieces are sharpened, doweled, scarfed, chamfered, or drilled at the proper workstation.
- Each piece is put through a quality process to ensure that you are only getting fencing that is of high quality.
- Post or rails are then stacked and wrapped in preparation for shipping.
Eastern / Northern White Cedar
Cedars are classified as resistant to very resistant to rot
- Atlantic White
- Eastern Redcedar
- Incense
- Northern White
- Port-Orford
- Western Redcedar
- Yellow
Cedar Posts and Rail Products
Cedar posts are round. They are available in five styles:
- Blank Posts
- Chamfered top (Dome or tapered top)
- Drilled Posts – 2 hole and 3 hole (4 hole available by special request).
- Scarfed Posts – 2 hole and 3 hole.
- Sharpened Farm Posts
Dimensions depend on style but can range from 3 to 8 inch in diameter.
Lengths can range from 3 – 12 feet long.
Mortise and tenon fittings available.
Rails are round and available in three styles.
- doweled rails.
- scarf rail or paddle rail.
- blank rails (with or without chamfer or dome ends).
